Day 1 : Arrival Brunei

Arrive at Brunei Airport and transfer to your hotel.

Meals : Dinner at Hotel


Day 2 : Brunei City Tour / Brunei Water Village Tour

Pick up from your hotel and proceed to visit the spectacular Jam' Asr Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque. It is made of Italian marble, gold mosaic and English stained glass with craftsmanship that reflects classical Islamic architecture. Visit the Royal Regalia Building where you will see the Royal Regalia that had been inherited from generation to generation and learn about the development of Brunei’s constitutional history. This tour will also include a view of the magnificent Istana Nurul Iman, official residence of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam. After lunch, proceed to visit Kampung Ayer. Located in the heart of the city, this unique water village is dubbed as the "Venice of the East".  It is the world's largest water village with 30,000 people living in houses on stilts snaking along the banks of the Brunei River. This timeless water village is made up of small villages linked together by more than 29,140 meters of foot-bridges, consisting of homes, mosques, restaurants, shops, schools, a fire brigade, a police station and a hospital. After tour, transfer back to your hotel.

Note: Mosque is closed on Thursdays & Fridays. Guests could still visit the Mosque compound but not allowed to enter the Prayer Hall. Thursday is the cleaning of the Prayer Hall day and Friday is the prayer day.

** Wear comfortable shoes & cotton T-shirts with long or short pants. Wear decent clothing to enter places of worship. Bring a bottle of water, sunblock and disposable raincoat

Day 3 : Temburong National Park

Morning, pick up from your hotel in Brunei and transfer to jetty in Bandar Seri Begawan to board a local water taxi to Bangar town via a network of waterways. Upon arrival, transfer to Batang Duri, an Iban village for morning tea as well as a nature briefing. Continue upriver by long boat through the Temburong River rapids to Ulu Temburong National Park. Explore the network of elevated walkways where you may see a wide variety of insects, flora & fauna. Cross the suspension bridge, and climb the canopy walkway to above the tree tops for a spectacular birds-eye view of the surrounding forests canopy. This steel structure rises some 50 metres from the forest floor to the level of the highest trees. Return to the river and enjoy lunch by riverside. Return by longboat and water taxi to Bandar Seri Begawan. Transfer back to your hotel 

** What to bring – Disposable raincoat, cap, sunblock lotion, insect repellent, drinking water, change of clothes, swim wear, bath towel, personal toiletries and other items of personal use. Use good walking shoes and bring a pair of flat sandal. Make your daypack waterproof by covering contents with large plastic bags. Bring a spare plastic bag for wet items (in case you go swimming). Comfortable cotton T-shirts with long or short pants recommended.

Day 4 : Q Fly to Kota Kinabalu/ Kota Kinabalu City Tour/ Welcome Cultural dinner

Fly to Kota Kinabalu.

Kota Kinabalu City tour - This tour gives you an overview of the famed landmarks and attractions of Kota Kinabalu City, the capital of Sabah. See the panoramic view of the city from Signal Hill’s Observatory. Learn the historical significance of the Atkinson Clock Tower. Marvel at the unique 30-storey high circular Sabah Foundation Building. Pass by the beautiful Blue City Mosque, built after the immaculate Nabawi Mosque in Medina. You will also see the famous Buddhist Puh Toh Tze temple with its traditional Chinese roofing and structure and huge reclining Buddha. Visit the Sabah State Museum to gain insight of the rich history, culture and heritage of the people of Sabah. We pass by the Sabah State Mosque, a masterpiece of architecture with its dove-grey walls and glittering majestic domes with gold inlay, a clever and unique combination of Islamic architecture and contemporary design. See the long casuarina-lined sandy beach at Tanjung Aru before returning to your hotel.

In the evening, transfer to a local restaurant for a scrumptious dinner with cultural show. After dinner, return to your hotel

Day 5 : Traditional Cooking (Join in basis)

Morning, head to the central market. See the vibrant market in the morning. Buy necessary ingredients for your cooking class from a list. You will learn to identify local herbs, spices and other fresh produces. Depart to the countryside to a local village where your cooking host resides.

Watch , learn and participate as your host explain to you how to cook ethnic food of Malaysia and Borneo and share some secret to cooking scrumptious traditional meal. Enjoy your hard work – yes you get to eat what you cook and more! before heading back to your hotel.

Day 6 : Mamutik/ Manukan Tropical Islands

Morning, pick up from your hotel and transfer to jetty to take a boat ride to Mamutik Island, a peaceful and tranquil island with sandy beaches. You may snorkel, swim or relax on the beach or take a walk around the island. Snorkelling gears are included. Boat transfer to Manukan Island. Snorkel, swim or simple relax by the beach. Look for colourful fishes at the jetty. Return to the mainland and transfer to your hotel.

Day 7 : Kota Kinabalu Q /Sandakan / Selingan Turtle Island

Fly to Sandakan and transfer to the jetty for boat to Selingan Turtle Island. Check into your accommodation. Afternoon free at leisure. You may swim, snorkel or just relax by the beach. In the evening, learn about the turtle conservation. Watch a slide show while waiting for the turtle to come ashore. Watch turtle laying eggs on the beach, the transfer of the eggs to the hatchery and the release of hatchlings to the sea.

Day 8 : Selingan Turtle Island/ Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre/Sukau Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary

Early morning, depart to Sandakan and proceed to the famous Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Founded in 1964, the Centre helps to teach once captive, injured or abandoned Orang Utans to learn and fend for themselves again, with the hope that one day they may be returned to the forest. The semi-wild Orang Utans are fed twice a day with milk and bananas during their rehabilitation process. Watch the feeding of the Orang utans. Walk along a jungle trail and observe the tropical lowland rainforest. After lunch,  drive overland for approximately 2 hours to Sukau village located by the Kinabatangan River. The Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary is internationally acknowledged by scientist and naturalist for its rich and diverse biodiversity. Check in to Bukit Melapi Lodge. Afternoon boat trip to watch the Borneo endemic proboscis monkeys gather by the river bank. The distinctive nose of the proboscis monkey has endeared this monkey to many nature lovers. You may spot numerous other wildlife and birdlife. After dinner, overnight at lodge.

Day 9: Ox Bow Lakes/ Afternoon River Cruise

Morning, take another boat trip to the Ox-bow lakes. The Ox-bow lake supports a mixture of mainly secondary riverine forest and freshwater swamp forest and is home to freshwater fish, otters and birdlife. It is a source of fish for the wildlife, birdlife and the indigenous people. Trek along a short riverine forest before you return to the lodge. After lunch, another river cruise in search of more wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 10 : Sukau /Lahad Datu/Danum Valley (Danum Valley Transfer & Activities based on join in basis)

After breakfast, transfer to Lahad Datu. Proceed to Borneo Nature Tours office for registration & briefing. Depart for 2 and a half hours overland journey on gravel road to Danum Valley Borneo Rainforest Lodge. This is the largest protected area of lowland dipterocarp rainforest in Sabah, covering 43800 hectares. On arrival, check in to your accommodation. After lunch, watch a slide presentation at the Conference Room. Proceed for your afternoon trekking activities. Introduction to the forest through nature trails and tree top Canopy Walkway. The canopy is 300m in length and 26m at the highest point. After dinner, night Drive in an open-top vehicle in search of nocturnal animal. Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge (Standard chalet)

Day 11   Danum Valley

After breakfast, morning Jungle Trek. Trek to the Kadazandusun burial site – “Coffin Cliff” before proceeding to the “View Point” for a bird’s eye view of the area. Descend to the “ Jacuzzi Pool” for a refreshing dip. After lunch, you may opt for another jungle trek or choose to go for a relaxing session of ‘tubing’ down the Danum River. After dinner, night walk in search of nocturnal animals. Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge

Day 12   Danum Valley / Lahad Datu

Morning free at leisure until transfer to Lahad Datu Airport for departure flight home.
