Day 1 Arrival/ Free Day

Meet on arrival at Kuching International Airport and transfer to hotel for check in. Free day to explore the city at your own pace. Nestled on the banks of the Sarawak River, Kuching retains much of the old-world charm of its romantic past. Stroll along the European-style esplanade – The Kuching Waterfront – with views across to the majestic Astana (the palace) and Fort Margherita. Discover hidden treasures as you wander the narrow, bustling streets crammed with ornate temples, markets, historic buildings and traditional Chinese shophouses selling local handicrafts and local delicacies.

 Day 2 Ulu Batang Ai /Mengiling Longhouse (B/L/D)

At 09:00hrs, depart Kuching for 4½ hours leisure drive to the Batang Ai Jetty for Ulu Batang Ai river.  There will be three stopovers along the route: - Serian - a predominantly Dayak trading town,   Chinese farm house to see how pepper and cocoa are grown and at Lachau for lunch.  The journey passes through scenic countryside of rice fields, rubber, cocoa, pepper and oil palm plantations, which intermingle with luxuriant tropical rainforest, rivers and mountain ranges.  Upon arrival at the river jetty, proceed by motorized longboat for about 45 minutes, crossing the Batang Ai Lake, passing through scenic views, rice fields, fish farms to reach Mengiling Longhouse.  Proceed to the longhouse for a warm welcomes tour the longhouse, watch the natives at work such as making mats, baskets, handicrafts and mending fish nets.   Join the natives in their daily chores, like feeding their livestock, washing clothes and enjoy a swim in the floating swimming pool.   After dinner, socialize with the longhouse dwellers, witness cultural performances and presentation of gifts before retiring for the night at the guesthouse.

Day 3 Ulu Batang Ai / Kuching (B/L)

After breakfast, witness cock-fighting and blowpipe demonstration before departing from the longhouse by longboat for about 30 minutes across the Lake.  Detour to a stream, poling, taking part to push the longboat against the current along the clear water stream.  Somewhere along the stream, we will make a stop to continue the journey through forest trail to reach a scenic spot by the stream. Enjoy nature at its best, take a rejuvenating swim and enjoy a sumptuous native style lunch. Return to Kuching.

Day 4 Departure (B)

Morning, free at leisure. Check-out by noon and transfer to the airport for your departure flight
